Case Study
UVAS

The UV Area Sterilization System (UVAS) was developed in conjunction with a local physician. UVAS is a patented, portable, surface and air disinfection unit that automatically calculates and disperses the required level of UV energy needed to disinfect an area. UVAS has a simplified user interface, utilizing a wireless remote control display, requiring little user training. UVAS intuitively powers down when proper disinfection rates have been achieved.
Extensive field testing and trials have been conducted regarding the effectiveness of this technology. It has also been found to be effective in neutralizing Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax). Multiple studies have been conducted, with many of the resultant findings published.
UVAS technology has been effectively tested at the following facilities:
- Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI)
- Steris Corporation
- St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, SC
