UEC Electronics wins Marine Corps GREEN Contract

Hanahan, South Carolina – March 29, 2010 –   UEC Electronics, LLC recently won a contract from the Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico Virginia for the development of a Ground Renewable Expeditionary Energy Network (GREEN) power distribution system.  The system design was proposed to the Marine Corps via a competed contract and UEC Electronics was one of two companies whose designs were selected by the Marine Corps to be prototyped and delivered for testing.

The system design will support alternate energy sources such as solar and wind, convert that energy from renewable sources and provide it to the warfighter on the battlefield or store it in a high density battery array until it is required. If selected as the Marine Corps’ preferred design a production contract will follow.
