EGT DERATE SYSTEM
for Centry KV Engines
Overview
The Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Derate System is designed to detect abnormally high exhaust gas temperatures and take preventive action by derating the engine to limit exhaust gas temperatures. Once the exhaust temperatures have come back to normal operating ranges, the system will return the engine to a normal operating condition.
The EGT Derate System can be configured to monitor up to four twin turbocharger engines. This system is designed for use with Cummins CENTRY controlled K-Series engines. The system cannot be applied to mechanically controlled engines.
Visual indication of the status of each exhaust system is provided on the system display. A red indicator illuminates when the temperature exceeds the safe limit. An alpha-numeric display allows the temperature of each engine to be monitored, along with the state of each engine derate control signal.

THERMOCOUPLE SENSOR:
Type K thermocouples in rugged industrial housings. Terminal blocks are provided in the top of the sensor housing for connection to the controller wiring.
