Demonstration of Hybrid Power Generation to the Army.

The Tactical Edge Hybrid Power 3500W performed great at the Army’s Adaptive Red Team / Technical Support Operational Analysis (ART/TSOA) in Quantico, VA June 2-4, 2015. The generator ran less than two hours per day to charge batteries. Despite overcast skies, solar energy collection was used to further reduce generator run time, and clean silent power was provided to multiple systems throughout the test.

UEC Unveils New Hybrid Power System

UEC Electronics, a subsidiary of Arotech Corporation (NasdaqGM: ARTX), unveiled its new 3.5kW Man Portable Hybrid Power Management System to the Department of Defense (DoD). This latest system is a prototype which satisfies an upcoming solicitation for the Mobile Electric Hybrid Power System Lite (MEHPS‐Lite). Following the success of the Ground Renewable Expeditionary Energy Network System (GREENS) renewable 1kW system, the hybrid system is designed to optimize efficiency and extend the life of generators by reducing generator run time by up to 70% resulting in reduced fuel consumption, maintenance burden, and logistical support. The system is not dependent on solar; however, it is able to collect and store up to 3kW of solar energy if available. With or without solar, the key element is the energy storage and management system.

Arotech to relocate Alabama power systems unit to Charleston region

The company that owns a Hanahan maker of electronic components is moving its Alabama battery division to the Charleston region under a plan to unify the two like-minded businesses.

Arotech Corp. said it plans to relocate its Auburn-based power systems subsidiary and key personnel to UEC Electronics off Yeamans Hall Road in early 2015.

The move of Electric Fuel Battery Corp. will be completed by March 31, the company said.
